honestly.29.1.12

The miracle didn't happen. Manchester city got their scare. Spurs played at times like an elite team. Quick, fierce, resolute two goals down did not stop spurs regrouping taking the game to city. First a debacle by city, then a thrashed strike by gareth bale brought the teams level. Spurs flooded the pitch ruffling city's mid field and the liability of their rear guard. Spur's passes were crisp doing the harder things well. Spurs should've poached the lead with a cross field ball cutting across the six yard box, defoe coming a micro second to best hart only for the ball to escape defoe's linker lunge harmlessly. Bolotelli should have been given a red card for his apparent stamp. He behaved like a undisciplined horse kicking down at his opponents head studs raised. The penalty for Manchester city was deserved and spurs having pushed man city had earned Manchester city and Manchester united's respect. Manchester united will need to be caucious, something game changing is happening to spurs. Manchester united will need to be aware spurs will meet them at the theatre of dreams in march, when complaintency could yet bereft Manchester united the title. Arsenal 1 Manchester united 2. It is hard to ignore how often Manchester united get the breaks and the rub of the green when it matters. Arsenal without key players who are participants in the African cup hurt Manchester united's preparation. It was a pity arsenals awoken spirit wasn't telling and velencia enjoyed the spoils knocking a placed header past arsenals slow reacting keeper. Manchester united piqued into life by Manchester city's win against spurs saw out the first half and the spirited resilience by arsenal. Arsenal emerged in to the second half with a renewed sense of purpose not to be embarrassed by the visitors. It was Manchester united who recouped the next goal. Danny welbeck highlighting again why he should be selected for England to face Holland at wembly in February. Manchester united's second goal should've have been arsenals curtain call. Then arsenal amended slickly play in van persie who made no mistake stealing a low short for the hosts. Flashes and grimaced half chances and arsenal began to tire. Manchester united didn't look like retaining the premier league in this seasons campaign, yet it must be noted Manchester united still had the impetus to defend like champions. I still believe Manchester city will win the title. I became convinced this would be the outcome when Manchester city gave Manchester united an obedience lesson at old trafford last October. Wins against spurs with respectful margins have proven Manchester city have the swagger to match any challenge. Manchester united in comparison must still face spurs, and spurs are starting to look like an inconspicuous shark about to take 3 points off of Manchester united's once regarded dominance. Manchester city whilst having a purposeful lead will not disregard matches against the newly promoted teams. Swansea in march. Newcastle and queens park rangers in may. Fulham in February could still dent Manchester city's ambition finding form at the right moment. Chelsea in march won't concern mancini too much. Chelsea are without the attitude that had brought them two premier league titles during Jose tenure. Chelsea have struggled to assert any type of challenge against either of the two front runners and they haven't covered themselves in glory with their last meeting with spurs. The result for spurs would've have been a more favorable one if spurs had the influx of bale and a much stronger squad. Mr ambrovich will not be impressed he is still looking up at rivals with more hunger having enjoyed limited success. Chelsea must hope their participation in the champions league doesn't end all too readily. It won't help chelseas cause either if torres doesn't hit the heights of an accomplished striker. King kenny must be counting his stars they were able to get a healthy return for him. First published by Michael-sincerely 29th January 2012 all rights reserved...
