RIDGE RACER UNBOUNDED REVIEW XBOX 360 8th May 2012

RIDGE RACER UNBOUNDED XBOX 360:

Ridge Racer Unbounded is that rare gear head, that cosmetically everything gets the right sparkle.
Ridge Racer Unbounded will frustrate the ghost out of you; you will feel tethered to what the AI wants you to achieve which isn’t to progress, which isn’t to enjoy the experience, which isn’t to win.
You will not find any generosity or mercy from Ridge Racer Unbounded.

Starting with a low spec car you are tasked with reducing the environment to rubble, and this is the only way to progress early on.

You will struggle coming to grips with what an unnatural bastard Ridge Racer Unbounded is.

You will also spend the first half facing a wall whilst the stream of racers push past you, and from the dust and the rubble you will emerge stoically trying to find any willingness to stick with it hurts like a bitch mentality.
The main irk is not being able to progress to the next circuit, it is almost as if the developers have chosen to rub your face on the asphalt leaving you rubbed with oil, and other than to steal your way to refined cars through a ranking system you have to fudge your way to 3rd place or better to even progress.

And whilst I have stuck with this beast and its untamed ego every victory has been earned with luck not skill and there is no sense of balance or even fairness just a bitter sweet farewell of what might have been.

Verdict Weekend Rental.
